Punkies

Our Halloween pretty much revolved around "Punkies". At the end of the harvest program, they said we could take one home.
Still pleased with her selection. Sketching the face with Daddy Kelly wisely carved the pumpkin during naptime. She was pretty pleased with the result (bells and all). Happy Halloween (very belated)!

Two years old!

Its so hard to believe that she's two years old already! That has to be the fastest 2 years ever! She is quite the talker these days. I'll try to get a video to post. Here are a few more pictures from her birthday weekend!

Renzo enjoyed in the festivities too!

Birthday #2

On Addy's actual birthday, we had a Pooh themed extravaganza! (Sorta, we invited a bunch of adults over to watch the Gator game and threw in some cupcakes, gifts and singing) The adorable cupcakes were made by a co-worker in my office who does great work (she also did the ones for Birthday #1)Katherine came by to join in the festivities. Drew and Addy had a jam session. Woah! The wagon is a gift from Mommy and Daddy

I think she looked like the local homecoming queen, waving to all the kids in the neighborhood.
Thank you to Nana and Poppy for coming from Jacksonville and to all our friends for stopping by and the great gifts!

Birthday #1

While everyone was here, we had a birthday party to celebrate the shared birthday of Addy (2)and Rock (3). We kept with the Disney theme of the week.

One of these days I'll remember that red icing is not a good idea for toddlers (see last year's birthday)

Thanks to JuJu for the Pooh toys and the pretty cross-stitch for Addy's room!

Cousins, Aunt and JuJu....Oh my!

We loved having JuJu, Rachel, Rock and Louisa here for a week. Addy didn't have school so she hung out with them for the entire week while Kelly and I had to work. It was a huge help to us.
Little Louisa is getting cuter by the day
Whenever we say "guess who's coming to visit?", Addy's first answer is "Rock?" I think she misses him.

Disney

What should you do with 3 kids under 3 on an extremely hot day in August? Take them to Disney World of course!!!! "YOU'RE CRAZY", you say!

JuJu, Aunt Rachel, Rock, and Louisa came to visit us in August. On their way down, we met them in Orlando for a day at Disney. We figured, better take advantage of the free admission before Rock turned 3.
We figured we'd go when the gates opened and stay as long as they would last. But we had a secret weapon. I broke my toe the week before we went and the Doctor suggested I not walk on it all day (not that I could have if I wanted to). The wheelchair got us to the front of every line. With a few naps throughout the day, we lasted until the night time parade.
UNBELIEVEABLE!!!! Kelly and I have decided that if anyone in our family ever has an injury that requires a wheelchair or crutches, we're heading to Disney World. Its the only way to go!!!!

The Wiggles

Long delayed posting. We took Addy to see her all time favorite kid entertainers the Wiggles. I'm not sure who was more excited, Addy or Kelly.
Fueling up for the big show.
Initial reaction

We had great seats. Close to the action.

Really close.
Really really close.
*Note: I think Kelly had more fun at this concert than Addy. I'm trying to post videos but Blogger is not cooperating*

Captiva Island

For my birthday and July 4th weekend, Kelly surprised me with a trip to Captiva Island. Our first day we went to breakfast and found the local 4th of July parade and celebration with entertainment, kids rides and a BBQ. It was something straight out of small town America. Awesome.

Captiva is known for its shells. So we took walks on the beach...

Some of us liked them more than others

The weather was overcast and a little rainy, which turned out to be great, not too hot and a more relaxing atmosphere. But we did get a little time at the beach!

We woke Addy up to go watch fireworks on the beach
But she warmed right up and started waving at all the people and fireworks.

After only 3 days, we found ourselves totally in love with the Captiva/Sanibel area. A great little get away for the 3 of us. We hope to go back many many more times.
