Yay for hospitals!!!

Ok, that is sarcasm, folks. We loved having our family around. All the hugging and kissing, aka passing of germs. After everyone was gone, Addy came down with a fever that night. So we called the doc and they said to take her to the ER. Yippee!!! At the ER they said her white blood cell count was high, they did a lumbar puncture and a culture to rule out a number of really really bad things. BUT the culture took 48 hours to mature and therefore, they had to admit us. Super.

So her parent's felt like this....
But Addy played...
slept...
and generally thought the whole thing was hilarious!!!Luckily, all the tests came back negative and she basically just had a bad chest cold.

Baptism

We were able to have Addy's baptism the Sunday after Thanksgiving so that our family could be there. The dress she's wearing was the dress I was dedicated in.
I have no idea what I'm doing here.
All the grandparents! The sweet thing slept through the whole thing.
Oh wait, no she didn't.
Everything is ok.

Outdoor fun

The day after Thanksgiving we headed to Matheson Hammock Park for a picnic and to enjoy the great weather. Nana and Poppy came in from Jacksonville for Addy's baptism (see next post). Nana was sick but Poppy joined us.

Thanksgiving!

We were so thankful that all of my family came to Miami for Thanksgiving. It was so much easier for us and we were glad they could all enjoy the warm weather.
Of course we fried a turkey.
And when I say "we", I mean Ron and Kelly
Sarah made up some great appetizers.
Zuni made a killer brunch that day, so she could enjoy her wine later.
While the guys fried the turkey, the rest of us played cards.
Fix and Rock chatted up Gnomie (who really needs to go home, he has long overstayed his welcome, bad houseguest)
Kelly is unhappy with the status of the Turkey.
The weather was so great we got to sit outside and talk most of the day. We also ate outside which was fabulous.
Renzo staked out his spot under the table early. No missing food droppings for this dog!
Addy avoided all the goings on by sleeping in her swing most of the day.
Rock entertained the crowds...
And shook hands with his adoring public.

Cousins

It was great having Rock around. He's grown so much. Hard to believe these two babies are exactly one year apart in age. Can't believe Addy will be so grown up in only a few months!

Rock LOVES Renzo.
A blurry happy baby.
Flashin' those baby blues!
Nothing is tastier than a hand, really.
Not so thrilled with "kisses" from his cousin.

Thanksgiving Visitors

Yay for family visits! My Mom, Rachel, and Rock came down early for the Thanksgiving holiday. We had a great time playing games and going on outings around Miami. As our Christmas gift, Rachel reupholstered our daybed. She is so crafty, it amazes me. She took before and after pictures to post on her blog, Design Fix http://fixfab.blogspot.com/. Go see our new daybed cover and all the really cool stuff she makes.

Playing Shanghai Rummy with Grammy. She's gotta learn someday, might as well start now.
Addy's not sure what she thinks of all the car trips.
Robert is Here, our favorite fruit stand in Homestead. Great fresh milkshakes!!!
Mom's impression of an emu. Not sure what is scarier, the impression or the emu.
Rachel's impression of pure raw honey. Again, scary.
Rock meets Robert.
A boy and his tractor.
Dancin' with Grammy.
This could be a commercial. My mom said her dad used to have a truck just like this.
